The Lead Machine Builder is responsible for building and troubleshooting mechanical assemblies, mechanical components, hardware and equipment with quality and timely focus in order to build special-purpose machinery, robotic work cells and factory automation projects.

Essential job functions include:

  • Assume a lead role in building automated equipment and act as back-up for the manager
  • Plan and coordinate work required to assemble systems and sub-assemblies
  • Perform machine build integration support and installation tasks
  • Perform setup and alignment of the system and subassemblies.
  • Repair and/or replace defective components of the system as required
  • Work with the project team to provide the customer with a complete and functional system
  • Participate in tear down and shipping of equipment
  • Represent CAID Automation and act as an ambassador at the customer's site
  • Reassemble equipment at delivery site to gain customer buy-off
  • Provide customer training when required
  • Travel to customers sites as required for installation and reintegration of systems
  • Mentor and train Mechanical Technicians to assemble and build efficiently and accurately

Qualifications include:

  • Certificate in Machine Building, Machinist or Maintenance Technician
  • Completed apprenticeship or 5 years of hands on machine assembly
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance experience
  • Ability and experience working in a team environment
